General description
A two-year master’s programme in “Surface, Electro, Radiation and Photo-chemistry”.
The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master SERP aims at training experts in experimental and theoretical chemistry, physical-chemistry, and materials science, top management and entrepreneurship. Students will be ready to develop innovative ideas and enterprises related to sustainable Energy, Health and Environment. This programme addresses an increasing demand for highly skilled scientists, engineers and top managers ready to enter the labour market with solid hard and soft skills and strong EU values.
SERP is based on the expertise of 5 research universities: Paris-Saclay University – France (UPSaclay), University of Genoa – Italy (UniGe), Adam Mickiewicz University – Poland (AMU), University of Porto – Portugal (U.Porto) and McGill University (Canada). The consortium is complemented by an extensive network with companies, large scale facilities, medical and research centres, a business school, along with other universities in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
The programme consists in two academic years, and promotes interdisciplinarity, international and intersectoral mobility. The 1st semester takes place at UPSaclay, and the 2nd at AMU or U.Porto according to the student’s career objectives. In the 2nd year, students can choose between:
- UniGe: specialized courses on Nanostructuring at surfaces for energy harvesting, electronics, and green chemistry + 6-month research internship
- UPSaclay: specialized courses on Nanomaterials for medicine and energy: from research to decision making + 6-month research internship
- McGill: 1-year intensive research project (for EU students)
The training comprises a school on data science and a school on entrepreneurship technology transfer. At the end of the programme, students are awarded a double or multiple diploma from all the universities they studied at.
